Key returners:
Nastya Tsetsko (Sr, OH)
Nastya led the offense last year as an OH getting 1st team all league, district as well as All State recognitions. She’s a 6’ OH finishing the season over .400 that is someone that every team has to account for defensively.
Kayla Jones (Jr, OH)
Kayla was a starting outside hitter in the 2020 campaign until she unfortunately experienced a hip fracture ending the remainder of her season. Before that, she established herself as one of the most potent outside hitters in the games. Standing at 6’ as well, she contends to be one of the most athletic attackers and blockers in the area.
Jade Lauzier (Jr, Middle)
Jade started and played middle blocker for the team in the 2019 and 2020 season and as such brings a wealth of experience, as well as Isabelle a huge presence at the net due to her ability to attack a range of sets, as well as being 6’ to boot. 4.
Isabelle Bombas (Sr, Middle)
Isabelle is a middle blocker that’s established herself as one of the more aggressive hard swinging middles in the league, and is a solid blocker. At 5’11 she boulders the front row prowess of this year’s team.
Grace Howard (Sr, Setter, OH)
Grace acted as both our starting setter when senior Maddy Murphy had an early season injury and played OH throughout the remainder of the season due to a season-ending injury of sophomore outside hitter Kayla Jones.
Maci Lumpkin (Sr, DS)
Maci has played a variety of roles over the years including primarily a pin attacker as well as defense. As Maci moves into her senior year campaign she focuses on defense through a seasoned competitive approach. She adds experienced, mental toughness, and a set of skills that will surely be on display this year.
Others to watch:
Cassidy Hudson (So.)
Cassidy spent time in the 2020 campaign on varsity as a swing player from JV. She comes in as a pin attacker with a well-rounded set of skills that will even further establish a potent offense in the upcoming campaign.
Elizabeth Morgan (Jr.)
Much like Cassidy, Elizabeth spent time on varsity in the 2020 campaign as a swing player from JV and over the last year has honed her defensive prowess into a strong addition to the defense of this year’s team.
Strengths: Without question the offense will be seen as the identity of HHVB in 2021 in returning four starting attackers ranging from 5’11 – 6’1 as well as a setter that is profound in running an offense in Grace Howard. The team will bring a consistently aggressive approach to all aspects of the game as it’s been established as in previous years.
Question marks: HHVB graduated four DS’s and two setteers, including notable names such as Jess Howard (L), Jenna Robinson (DS) and Maddy Murphy (S). In essence, the program will replace its whole receiving and defensive core as well as 5 out of 6 of its starting servers. In doing so, the HH development program will be tested to develop a team approach to serve receive, defense, and serving as it’s relied on foundational pieces for the last three years.
Outlook: “HH looks to continue its consecutive champion success in the American League as its done in the past three years but is more focused on not only continuing to contend with the top teams in the district, but also to further its campaign into competing at the state level in 2021. We will look to compete at the absolute highest level we can.”
